Since I just wrapped up A3’s Robot Safety and Risk Assessment Training, I thought that I would share a couple of notes!

1. Here is the current, applicable ANSI standard: ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012
2. These standards cover both manufacturers AND integrators.
3. An updated, 2025 version will be released around the end of the month! There will be a 2-year sunset period, compliance to ANSI/RIA R15.06-2025 will be required ~March 2027.
4. If you want to see the new standards, check out ISO 10218-1:2025 and ISO 10218-2:2025. The new ANSI standards are essentially an American packaging of the 2025 ISO ones!
5. If you want to apply these standards, you’re going to need to look at RIA TR R15.306-2016 for the ANSI task-based risk assessment.
